I made yogurt a few weeks ago. I used whole organic milk, organic whole-milk yogurt as a starter, and my gas oven to incubate it.
It turned out like real regular plain yogurt! Which was pretty cool.
I probably won’t do it regularly. The amount of money I saved wasn’t worth the time it took me to make and incubate the stuff. But I’m glad I tried it out. Not as exciting as making butter, though.
But it reminded me of how much I like yogurt, so I’ve been eating a lot of yogurt lately. I like to take a little bit of cereal and add it to my yogurt. It doesn’t have to be granola. I’ve used Honey Bunches of Oats, Cinnamon Life, Cheerios… basically whatever is around. It’s my new favorite thing to eat.

I always forget how much I like broccoli until I cook it and eat it – and then I remember… I love broccoli!!!

Las Casuelas has a carnitas burrito that will blow your mind. Their guacamole ain’t bad either.
I’m exhausted – I haven’t done anything today exept battle with my mobile phone and wi-fi, while I sat around our condo – but after eating that big mountain of meat and and cheese and beans, I could go into a coma. I swear, going back to work is going to be really hard.

Tom and I were in Rancho Mirage & Palm Desert – shopping! – and we were a bit peckish so we went to the Taco Shop. Fish tacos – yum! Finally, good Mexican food on regular basis.

Serves 4.
- Large pasta shells
- Peas
- Parmesan cheese (grated)
- Garlic infused olive oil
- Butter
- Seasoned salt
- Cracked black pepper
Cook pasta until done, stir in 1 cup peas, 1/2 cup grated parmesan, 1 Tablespoon olive oil, butter, salt, & pepper to taste.
Yum!
My own recipe, but it’s basically carbonara without the cream, pancetta, or egg.
You could add anything you want to it, more veggies and it becomes a kind of primavera or use mizithra cheese and kalamata olives and it’s greek pasta. I think the important thing is to use really great ingredients – so get fresh cheese, not the Kraft green cylinder cheesefood product.
