Get Some of These!

As some of you are aware my brother, Nathan, is an artist/musician/barista/etc. He’s in a band with his good friend, Mike, and they are Elbows & Knees. Their first EP, Aim to Please (available to download here) was a huge leap forward in songwriting for my brother, which I can only attribute to his collaboration with Mike, and their producer, Justin. I can’t recommend it enough. My favorite song on the EP is “Nowhere Left to Go” but all four songs are hits.

Here’s the exciting news: their second EP is finished! Crippled by a Crush is ready to drop… but they need our help.

Elbows & Knees has a Kickstarter up until February 29th – they are trying to raise $850 in order to get CDs made and to mail them out to radio stations, labels, etc. Right now, they have 22 backers and have raised $605 towards their goal.

Watch this video to get a sense of the Elbows & Knees aesthetic. I think it also really drives home how much of your help they really need.

Their producer, Justin, has issued a $1 challenge to anyone who hears about this project – and I figure if HALF of my Twitter followers give a dollar, that would be a huge boost! Full disclosure, I have funded at the $100 level because my husband wants Elbows & Knees to write a song for him, using three words of his choosing.

I’m gonna sweeten the pot: If Elbows & Knees reach their funding goal, everyone who funds them $5 or more from today until the 29th, I will make sure that they get a copy of the song written for us as our special gift for supporting these very earnest young musicians. Just forward me a copy of your Kickstarter receipt to katherinelives [at] gmail [dot] com.

Thank you!
