ART: Who?

Who should be considered an “artist” – I think it’s anyone who expresses themselves through unusual means or in ways those means aren’t usually used. Or in in other words: By actively choosing to express a concept outside of the everyday means of expression (conversations, emails, letters, video chat) one becomes an artist.

This definition means that almost anyone is, or could be, an “artist.”

We don’t all walk around singing songs to each other about our lives, or dancing to express how we feel in a given moment, or painting to inform our social circle about a traumatic event.

Only Kate Bush does that.

When we choose to write a play or poem to express the feelings or ideas that we have, we are Artists.

When a conversation or an email will not express our self adequately, we must become Artists.
