Tom reports that his first day was “fine.” About half of his students are returning from last year, and the new ones seem to be more of the same. He feels prepared for the year and, in his third year at this school, kind of knows what to expect. Now he is watching football, which is such a different reaction than the previous first days that he’s had, I’m happy for him, but kind of confused about what to do with myself.
