I had a follow-up by accident today. Apparently, mistakes were made.
Still no appointment with the ENT specialist. But I got a referral to an allergy specialist for testing AND to do a lung function test because I may not have asthma per se – it could be exercise induced or just lung damage. YAY!?
When I said to my doctor that it was relief that I didn’t have strep, he said, “But you still had a bacterial infection in your tonsils. That’s not good. We’ll get it figured out.”
I don’t know how to react to a doctor who isn’t dismissive.
And this brings up an interesting idea about House – an asshole, yes. Dismissive? Maybe. Maybe not. He can’t really afford to be dismissive of patients because he might miss symptoms. But he is dismissive of his staff and they are often the only ones who interacs with the patients early on in their treatment. AND THAT IS WHY HOUSE MISSES THINGS ON HIS OWN CASES BUT SOLVES CLINIC CASES IN LESS THAN A MINUTE.
Ooh, those writers are so clever.

I like this doctor of yours.
I once had a doctor who didn’t suck, and he’s ruined me for all other doctors.
One time I called him with a concern about my medicine, and he called me back right away. It was intermission. He was at the opera.
Yes. Once you find a decent doctor who takes you seriously you just want to hang on to him/her for ever and ever and ever.
AND THAT IS WHY HOUSE MISSES THINGS ON HIS OWN CASES BUT SOLVES CLINIC CASES IN LESS THAN A MINUTE.
SO TRUE!
