NPR has become my default radio station. On my way into work, I listen to Morning Edition and I LEARN FACTS. For example today I learned:
- It’s truffle season in France! There are French people who grow truffles! ZOMG! [link to NPR story]
- Humanists, Atheists, and Agnostics have their own winter holiday called Human Light! It’s as dumb as it sounds! [link to NPR story]
What will tomorrow bring? What will I learn? I’m sure it will be FACTS!

And this is why I love NPR! And my sister!
I learned that the real life buffalo whose image was used on the Buffalo Nickel was butchered after the owners no longer wanted to care for it and that it produced over a 1000lbs of meat.
I learned that most African Americans trace their ancestry to Senegal, Gambia, and… some other country. Also, Michael Phelps can eat all the sugar he wants. Or something like that.
Facts are THE BEST!
I have my own holiday?? Ummm, can I have one that doesn’t sound so lame, please?
