Reason #1 I am Voting for Barack Obama (Daily)

He reminds us of our responsibility as citizens to contribute to public life through service.

The Federal Government can’t solve every problem, especially at the individual and local level. Local governments don’t have the resources to engage their communities in service. Non-profits don’t have the resources to staff and pay for programs. Religious groups offer services, but often with many strings attached, and also have very limited resources. Barack Obama understands these challenges BECAUSE HE WAS COMMUNITY ORGANIZER. By expanding Americorps, the Peace Corp, and engaging our retired workers in service, we can start solving the problems we have that inidividual and local level by connecting people, groups, and resources.

This plan is also reviving and carrying on one the best things that came out of the Clinton years – continuing to honor the legacies of FDR, Kennedy, MLK, and all American activists.
