Do you have hot water?

Because I’m on Day 2 of no hot water in this shithole of a condo. And our shower won’t run on just cold water (great plumbing!), so no hot water, no showers.

In other news, we’re making an offer on a house. There is a competing offer, so everyone please cross your fingers for us!

I am totally freaking out.

Our water is so hot we have to keep it almost all the way to cold unless we want to burn our skin off. SO I GUESS WE KNOW WHERE YOUR HOT WATER IS. Also I am freaking out right with you.

Fingers are crossed as requested ;-) .

I can’t believe you and Tom are moving into the realm of homeownership. Are you happy with it? Besides being freaked out? Good luck!

(PS-Guess who might be moving back to California? US! Justin has an interview at UC Santa Cruz on Thursday that might drive us south.)

I really love the house, and it’s KILLING ME. I just see so much potential in it.

I am crossing my fingers for Justin’s interview – it would be so KICK ASS if you were only a day’s drive away!

Oh, god, “potential” is what my in-laws LOVE in houses, and it’s how we wound up living in this albatross. Run, run from potential!

(My personal issues aside, fingers crossed for you! I’m sure you have a much better sense for potential than my in-laws. [wink])

  6. Katherine says:

Jamie, when I say “potential” I mean that I can see us there over a long period of time, making the house our own. We could move in tomorrow, not change a thing, and never change a thing, and be perfectly fine. But… I really see us able to customize it to our liking, without major construction. Potential.

That’s what I get for reading entries backwards. OK, the fingers are already crossed, so I shall just say: no hot water = YUCK.
